Wiccan Staffs
Within Wicca and Neo Paganism, staffs are often used as a symbol of power and magical prominence. They are traditional hand carved from wood, though any material can be used, since woods represents the Earth and Nature, many wiccans and pagans prefer this material. Staffs are also used as a focal point for energy within rituals and spells on much more grandeur scale then small rituals or spells. Normally staffs are common for large community rituals where the individual wielding the staff can have more energy drawn to them then another similar ritual item that is used, the wand. Staffs tend to become very personal items, and much like the wand or athame, they can often absorb their users energies have tendencies of becoming "alive".
